Jen and Nate, MCC kids from Prijedor, who had been visiting David and Sara in Novi Sad on the weekend, came down to Beograd today (with David)—so we had, for an afternoon, nearly the entire Srbija contingent (because Prijedor is in the Republika Srpska, although technically BiH, Nate and Jen's existence is far more like ours who are actually in this country/state [of mind], than could be found two hours south and minus border crossings in the getting-to).
ah, the jumpy conversation of those who hardly speak in such a way anymore—and, even then, certainly not to others who, never minding the whole "singularity of individual existence" truth/myth, find themselves in remarkably similar situations. the MCC "type" is almost definable—but more easily recognisable by certain key, often unfortunate, features.
Jen is looking far more pregnant than she was when last we met, which is to say—than when she was a few weeks into the ordeal and keeping mum about it. apparently bikers can have children, provided the actual one doing the actual having is not the actual biker.

Any beau of yours has a tall order to fill.
the part of the conversation, which i edited out only to reveal now, happened to pertain to the fact that all of my recent and persistent difficulties, especially those here in this prescribed place, arise because i am "too much a guy."
at long last, i have cornered someone into saying "beau" [hysterical, decidedly female, laughter].
I thought "beau" suitably proper, and pleasantly old-fashioned, for a public forum.
