PRAGUE, Czech Republic -- A Czech KFOR soldier was injured Tuesday (8 November) in an exchange of fire with a group of local Albanians in northern Kosovo. One of the Albanians also was wounded slightly. According to the Czech Defence Ministry, the soldier had tried to stop six armed locals from illegally cutting wood. The ministry said the wood smugglers were handed over to the local Kosovo police and a probe was launched into the incident. (CTK, RTS, Pravda - 08/11/05)
