my cleansing wrath is obviously not up to its task.
weakness has befallen me (in the form of ceaseless coughing, which i am powerless to stop, and the return of the fever) and, thus, i really did stay home from work today, a phenomenon which hasn't happened* since, well, let's see [rustle rustle], i'll just consult those Perfect Attendance awards upon which i nearly based my existence until i exposed them for the overachiever-where-it-doesn't-count scam they are....
*i mean actually staying home ill—where "ill" does not mean "attending to some other, more pressing (and often *involving* illness, just not belonging, per se, to me) concern."
