what happens when you find out that what was taken as the postmarked-by deadline is, in truth of fact, the in-office-and-not-breathing-heavily one? do you wring your hapless hands and then fork over the $5093467 for rapid postage? or do you play the Nomad Web card...?
in plodding through a series of grant applications, i realised that i have people who could complete exactly this request in/near each of the places to which i'm applying: to print documents and hand carry them to their intended offices. the chosen ones just happened to be in Ann Arbor and Bloomington. this time.
other flexes of connexion this week have included: securing jumper cables for a friend's "night of the frozen dead" car, discovering a bottle of Turkish raki in my other office beneath a pair of red boxing gloves, and, in addition to the usual pocket fooding, many many little green apples.

I'm glad you didn't try your lock-defrosting techniques on the dead car battery.
How conveniently fate makes its stumbling blocks.
...and then presents you with a bottle of raki, expressly to help you stumble.
