postal intrigue

the loudest statements are often those made with the quietest of assiduous honesty. a bright yellow package arrived yesterday in the mail, addressed to me, a pale green customs label proclaiming its contents (BABY CLOTHES). through absolutely no effort on my part, other than being gone all day, thereby giving the parcel nearly 11.5 hours of exposure in the foyer, the peering looks of my housemates reached a relative maxima. only relative (she reiterates)—for today brought another in the puffy yellow species, this time blaring ADULT CLOTHES YOU WILL NEED and SNACKS YOU'VE BEEN WANTING TO EAT to all who would stoop to inquire—or read subliminally, as the case may be.

my eyes are blank; my mouth is silent. and i'm changing my surname to Golyadkinova.

i was never telling. but today is Sinter Klaas—which means that i finally know what is contained within the second parcel.

as of an hour ago, my feet are warm and stripey, i'm bouncing in place from a gummi-overload, and i can make ¥1000 worth of calls on my new Japanese phone card.

there was a duck suit in the first one.

here concludes my brief departure from tell-lessness.
