or saying "i can't forget"

various Venn-diagramish activities consumed Saturday and Sunday. went to Saugatuck, using (in part) a road that looked extremely familiar. the optical illusion Jesus in one store window, with eyes that follow one, however, did not. there, on the street, explained in no uncertain terms, extremely loudly, to Ben just how this travesty was being wrought. concavity, i tell, you explains a world of phenomena. over the course of the weekend, in all sorts of permu/combinations, made a lot of food in Ben and Christy's kitchen. Daniel and others had stolen Timmer's car and, in the course of one night, repainted it as *another* racecar. crazy kids.

when all Spalink boys, their women, (plus i, who had, after all, been living on a third of a wheel for the past two weeks) went to church, of course we sat in the front pew. of course we took up its entirety and, of course, spent the service (in addition to displaying our rather incredible, especially when exerted collectively, powers of *critical* thinking, sermons not excepted), primarily, steeling ourselves for what would inevitably come later, namely: how to explain to all sorts of well-wishing Dutch ladies just *how* we had all come to be sitting there.

later that night we all played cut-throat poker; that i have a positive balance in my house account made the whole fleeing-the-country idea a bit more reasonable....
